Extending your favorite candles life to prevent tunneling & sooting.
Always Trim Wick & Check for Debris
- Before you light your candle. ALWAYS trim the wick 1/4" inch before each use.
- Remove any debris, it will add more fuel ro the candle handle it's designed to handle, causing the possibility of flames.
- Wicks not trimmed or crooked causes uneven burning, flaring & soothing. Extinguish candle immediately & and let cool for 2-3 hours. Trim candle & relight.
First Burn is the Most Important
- Candles should burn one hour for every 1 inch in diameter of actual candle size.(Example, 3 inches across should burn 3 hours.) Wax should melt fully across jar.
- If a candle doesn't burn properly from the start it will create a "memory ring." Memory rings occur when a candle burns unevenly, creating a tunnel-like shape that goes down the center of the candle. As a result, wax around the edges of the candle remain solid & the candle starts to burn down the middle. This causes uneven burn & less candle to burn properly.
Don't Burn Candle Too Long
- Burning a candle too long will cause carbon to collect on the wick, leading it to "mushroom". This wick will become unstable & produce dangerously large flames. This causes the candle to smoke & release soot. PLEASE DON'T BURN FOR MORE THAN 4 HOURS at a time & at least two hours before relighting.
Keep Flame Away From Moving Air
- When burning a candle avoid proximity to air conditions, fans, crowded areas with people walking back & fourth. Moving air can disturb the flame, resulting in those ugly black marks on jars.
ALWAYS KEEP BURNING CANDLES FROM CHILDREN & PETS !!
